Fight the Elections Bill!! Four things you can do
Today, the Government's Elections Bill returns to the House of Commons for its third reading. Liberal Democrats for Electoral Reform strongly support the campaign to stop this bill.
There are four things you can do TODAY to oppose the Bill.
1. Take action through the Unlock Democracy Elections Bill Action Centre
Our friends at Unlock Democracy have put together this Action Centre, offering a variety of ways you can oppose the Bill.
Take action here.
2. Sign the Electoral Reform Society's petition against photo ID at polling stations
The introduction of mandatory photo ID at polling stations is one of the most pernicious aspects of this Bill. Nobody should be turned away from a polling station or have to wait in line at their local council to be approved to vote because their driving licence is still in their maiden name, or they lost their passport.
To oppose mandatory photo ID at polling stations, add your voice to the ERS petition here.
3. Register for the 5 February March for Democracy
On 5 February at 12 noon, thousands will march for democracy. Sign up to join the rally here.
4. Amplify our message on Twitter
Follow LDER on Twitter (@LibDem4ER) and share our message about the Elections Bill with your own networks. You can retweet our post here.
Take action NOW and stop this harmful Elections Bill.
