Polling stationMay 6th - Local elections, event of the decade

On May 6th Buckinghamshire will see its biggest ever round of local elections. This is the most important local election in a generation being the first unitary election. The Liberal Democrats have one mission to make Britain a fairer, greener, more caring country.

In Buckinghamshire, now more than ever local people need a council that works for ALL residents. A council that is fair and caring. A council that spends wisely, delivers good quality services in a resourceful and responsive way.

Bucks Unitary Council was created on the claim of creating an 'even better' council for the people of Buckinghamshire but the reality is a council which has very much failed to deliver what it promised. In a comprehensive on-line survey of residents in Chesham & Amersham, people told us they are very dissatisfied with a number of Council Services including maintenance of roads, planning services and Adult Social Care. And this is from a wasteful council which has more councillors than any other in England. Click here to read the findings from our survey.

In Chesham and Amersham, only the Liberal Democrats have the scale to oppose the current GainsConservative led administration. The Local Elections are YOUR opportunity to have a new council that demands better for the people of Chesham & Amersham.
