Introducing our Unitary Candidates for Great Missenden
Declan Mullen
Declan moved to Little Missenden from Beaconsfield two years ago, having lived in South Buckinghamshire for over thirty years. His career has been mostly in Financial Services, most recently as a Non-Executive Director of the Buckinghamshire Building Society in Chalfont St Giles. Declan is a Senior Scout for Hull City for the South East of England, responsible for Opposition Analysis and Player Recruitment. He is most interested in ensuring that Great Missenden, and immediate environs, comes back stronger and more united than ever in our Post-Covid world, with a personal emphasis on education, mental health support, and housing as a set of immediate priorities.
Christopher Spruytenburg
Chris is a former mayor of Chesham, and has been both a Chiltern District and Chesham Town councillor. Having lived in the Chilterns for 33 years, he is most concerned about the effect HS2 will have on the local environment. Tunnelling will damage the aquifer and the track has already irreparably destroyed precious woodland.
Simon Woodhead
Simon has lived in the area for over thirty years. He is a professional engineer whose experience has ranged from the design of radio systems to the implementation of global data networks. Although born in Wales, Simon spent much of his childhood in the Middle East, thus providing experience of diverse cultures. Outside work he has served as lifeboat crew, a volunteer reservist in the UK armed forces, an adult helper with a local Scout group and at one of the local GP vaccination hubs.
