Book now for ‘World Food Tasting’ event
Don’t forget to book for the 'World Food Tasting' event from 2.15pm to 4.45pm on 10 February in Chesham. Tickets are just £4 and it will be a celebration of culinary diversity. Coinciding with the Chinese New Year, it will be open to everyone in the community.
The event will showcase a rich tapestry of flavours from various regions, including Asia, the Far East, Northern Europe, the Mediterranean, Africa and the Caribbean. Attendees will have the opportunity to sample items from a delightful array of finger foods, including vegetarian options in a social setting that reflects our community spirit. In addition, there will be a raffle with tempting prizes; profits from it will be donated to World Central Kitchen, a charity dedicated to providing meals to those in need during times of crisis. This includes, for example, in Ukraine and Gaza.
The first session will run from 2.15pm to 3.15pm and the second session will run from 3:45pm to 4:45pm at the Chesham Guide Hut, Bury Lane (by Lowndes Park). Book tickets today by clicking here.
We also need a dozen volunteers to assist on the day. We’d love to hear from you if you can help with setting up and running the event from 1pm onwards, or if you might be able to provide a suitable raffle prize (food or drink-based). If so, please email LibDem events and put ‘Tasting Event’ in the subject heading.
Chesham & Amersham Liberal Democrats are organising the event, with valuable sponsorship from a number of individual sources to meet a substantial portion of the overall cost. This will ensure that the focus remains on celebrating diversity and fostering community connections, at minimal cost to those attending.
World Central Kitchen is a non-profit organization founded by Chef José Andrés that uses the power of food to nourish communities in times of crisis and beyond.
